Founding Faculty

I.P.E.A.C. is supported by a founding core faculty of trainers and collaborators who shape and deliver its educational and scientific work.

This core team evolves continuously, enriched through the contribution of affiliated trainers and mental health professionals from Cyprus, Greece, and the international community, strengthening the development of an expanded and multicultural training framework.

As part of its ongoing development, the Institute actively expands its network of scientific collaborators and educators, cultivating a dynamic learning community and a space for professional growth that extends beyond the geographical boundaries of Cyprus.

Meet the Team

Sofia Papoutsi

Sofia Papoutsi
Founder & Scientific Director

Sofia Papoutsi is a Person-Centred and Focusing-Oriented Psychotherapist, trainer, and founder of the Institute for Person-Centred & Experiential Approaches (I.P.E.A.C.), based in Cyprus. She is a Certifying Coordinator of The International Focusing Institute (TIFI) in New York, actively contributing to the dissemination and training of Focusing at an international level.

 

Her academic background includes studies in Social Work in Greece, a Master of Arts in Sociology from Jawaharlal Nehru University, and a Master of Arts in Counselling from University of East Anglia. During her time in India, she collaborated with social and educational organisations, participating in programmes supporting children and communities in partnership with non-governmental and international bodies, including initiatives connected to the United Nations. This experience significantly shaped her intercultural awareness and sensitivity to diverse and socially vulnerable contexts—elements that continue to inform her therapeutic and educational work.

She has trained in Person-Centred and Focusing-Oriented Psychotherapy, as well as in Family and Systemic Therapy. Since 2016, she has been training mental health professionals in Focusing and the Person-Centred Approach in Greece and Cyprus. She has also taught in academic and training institutions, including Mediterranean College, contributing to counselling and psychotherapy education.

With over twenty years of clinical and training experience across diverse therapeutic and psychosocial settings, she has developed an integrative, experiential approach to psychotherapy and to the training of mental health professionals.

The creation of I.P.E.A.C. reflects her vision of an internationally oriented educational space in the Eastern Mediterranean, where the person-centred philosophy, experiential learning, empathy, and authentic human encounter can serve as a bridge connecting professionals and communities across cultures and regions.

Mag. Fotini Dimitriou-Ipsmiller

Mag. Fotini Dimitriou-Ipsmiller
Head of Training Design & Clinical Supervision

Fotini Dimitriou-Ipsmiller is a psychotherapist and supervisor with extensive international experience in mental health, education, and clinical supervision. She studied Sociology and Social and Economic Sciences at the University of Vienna, specialising in Social Psychology, and has been professionally active in psychotherapy and training since 1998.

She completed her training in Client-Centred Psychotherapy in Austria and holds an official licence to practise psychotherapy granted by the Austrian Ministry of Science and Education. Her further training includes Bioenergetic Therapy, Systemic Organisational Consulting, Clinical Hypnotherapy, and EMDR for trauma processing. She is an accredited psychotherapy supervisor in Austria and Cyprus, and a recognised supervisor by the Hellenic Association for Person-Centred and Experiential Psychotherapy.

Her professional career began in Vienna, where she worked in clinical, social, and educational mental health settings, collaborating with academic institutions and social organisations in both research and therapeutic programmes. Since 2011, she has been based in Cyprus, where she maintains a private practice and contributes actively to the training and support of mental health professionals.

She is a founding member of the Cyprus Association for Psychotherapists, where she played a key role in its institutional development, serving initially as Secretary and later as President. She remains actively engaged in the Cypriot psychotherapy community and in European professional networks, contributing to the ongoing development of the field and its alignment with European standards of training and ethics.

She has also represented Cyprus in the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP), supporting the connection of the Cypriot psychotherapy community with European professional networks.

At I.P.E.A.C., she serves as Head of Training Design & Clinical Supervision, playing a central role in shaping the Institute’s educational philosophy, programme structure, and the development of clinical supervision frameworks for trainees.

Zoe Voulgaraki

Zoe Voulgaraki
is a psychologist, psychotherapist, supervisor, and trainer, holding an MA in Educational Science. She specializes in Person-Centered and Focusing-Oriented Psychotherapy, with a particular interest in experiential and embodied dimensions of the therapeutic process.

 

In her clinical and educational work, she emphasizes the creation of a safe and authentic therapeutic environment in which individuals can develop a deeper connection with their lived experience, emotional awareness, and bodily felt sense. Her approach integrates the principles of Person-Centered Psychotherapy, Focusing, and emotional awareness, supporting processes of personal growth, healing, and existential exploration.

Alongside her therapeutic work, she is actively involved in the training and supervision of mental health professionals, with a special focus on the experiential and relational dimensions of the therapeutic relationship. Her interests center on the connection between body, emotion, and presence, as well as on the ways lived experience can become a core pathway for transformation and psychological change.

At the International Institute for Person-Centred & Experiential Approaches in Cyprus (IPEAC), she is part of the Institute’s core training team, contributing to the development and delivery of the foundational training in Person-Centered and Focusing-Oriented Psychotherapy. Her presence within the program strengthens its experiential, relational, and intercultural character, supporting a deeply human-centered learning environment.

Γεωργία Καλτσίδου

Georgia Kaltsidou
Psychologist | Person-Centred & Focusing-Oriented Psychotherapist

Georgia Kaltsidou is a psychologist holding a Master’s degree in Clinical and Social Psychology of Addictions and Psychosocial Issues from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She is trained in Person-Centred and Focusing-Oriented Counselling and Psychotherapy, with active involvement in supporting individuals and groups.

She has gained experience in social services and support centres for vulnerable populations, working as a psychologist, counsellor, and group facilitator, with a focus on psychosocial empowerment, inclusion, and experiential work.

Alongside her clinical work, she has pursued studies in music, including classical singing and vocal training, as well as harmony and choir studies. Her engagement with the arts forms an integral part of her professional identity and is creatively integrated into her experiential and therapeutic approach.

At I.P.E.A.C., she contributes as a member of the training team, supporting experiential learning processes and group work within the programme.

Lambros Stavrou

Lambros Stavrou
Psychotherapist & Counsellor | ECP | Supervisor in the Person-Centred & Experiential Approach

Lambros Stavrou is a psychotherapist and counsellor with over twenty years of clinical and training experience in the field of mental health. He has been in private practice since 2001, working with adults, adolescents, couples, and families, and since 2022 he has been teaching Ethics and Professional Practice within a comprehensive psychotherapy training programme.

He holds the European Certificate of Psychotherapy (ECP) and the European Certificate for Person-Centred and Experiential Psychotherapy and Counselling (PCE Europe). He completed a four-year training in Person-Centred Psychotherapy at the Czech Institute for Person-Centered Approach, holds a Master’s degree (M.A.) in Counselling from Keele University, and a degree in Psychology.

He has collaborated with mental health and social support organisations in Cyprus, including the Systemic Institute Cyprus, Reto Cyprus rehabilitation centre, and the Cyprus Single Parents Association. He has also taught ethics and professional practice to psychotherapy trainees.

His professional involvement includes participation in mental health research programmes in collaboration with the University of Cyprus and the Research and Innovation Foundation, as well as service in key institutional roles, including Vice President of the Cyprus Association for Psychotherapists and member of the National Anti-Drugs Council. He has also been a founding member of professional organisations in Person-Centred Psychotherapy and has contributed actively to mental health promotion initiatives.

His therapeutic work is grounded in the Person-Centred and Experiential Approach, with an emphasis on relationship, authenticity, and respect for the uniqueness of each individual.

At I.P.E.A.C., he is a member of the training and supervision team, contributing to the support of experiential learning processes and the professional development of trainees.

Anna Laleni

Anna Laleni
Person-Centered Psychotherapist | Clinical Supervisor

Anna Laleni is a Person-Centered Psychotherapist with extensive experience in individual psychotherapy, couples therapy, and clinical supervision of mental health professionals. She maintains a private practice in Thessaloniki, working with individuals and couples, while also providing clinical supervision to practitioners in the field.

Her academic background includes a Master’s degree from Gallaudet University in Deaf Education, with a focus on family-centered early intervention. She has further specialized in Person-Centered Counselling at University of Strathclyde, and holds certified training in Psychotherapy from the Institute of Counseling and Psychological Studies in Athens. She is also trained in couples therapy using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and holds a diploma in individual and group supervision from Cascade Training Associates.

Her professional career began in the field of education and special education. She worked for several years at the National Foundation for the Deaf, where she served, among other roles, as Head of Early Intervention and Family Counselling programmes, supporting children with hearing difficulties and their families.

She has participated in research and educational programmes related to deaf education, parental counselling, and social inclusion, in collaboration with academic institutions and public organizations. With a long-standing presence in the person-centered psychotherapy community in Thessaloniki, she is recognized as an experienced and active member of the field.

She is a founding member of the Hellenic Association for Person-Centered and Experiential Psychotherapy and a member of international scientific organizations in the field.

Within I.P.E.A.C., she contributes her extensive clinical experience through the provision of supervision and the support of mental health professionals.
