Four-year training in Person-Centered & Focusing Experiential Psychotherapy
The training in the Person-Centred and Focusing-Oriented Experiential Approach is a comprehensive four-year journey of professional training and deep personal development. The programme is delivered in person in Cyprus and is the first of its kind on the island, offering a vibrant space for learning, connection, and meaningful experience for those who wish to deepen into an authentic, experiential psychotherapeutic approach.
At the same time, the programme is also offered in English, creating a multicultural learning environment where individuals from different countries and cultural backgrounds come together, share, and co-create a common learning experience. In this way, dialogue is strengthened and bridges of understanding are cultivated, bringing people — particularly from the wider Middle East region — closer through the values of acceptance, empathy, and respect.
Who is this training for
The training is addressed to:
- Psychologists and psychiatrists
- Students and graduates of social sciences and humanities
- Professionals working with people (educators, social workers, health professionals)
- Individuals who wish to engage in meaningful personal development through an experiential process (Kindly note that participants in this category do not lead to a professional qualification in psychotherapy. A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded upon completion of the program)
Programme Aim
The aim of the programme is to create a living space for learning and encounter that transcends borders and cultural differences. Through a person-centred and experiential philosophy, an environment is cultivated where learning is deeply connected with personal experience, dialogue, and authentic human presence.
The programme seeks to contribute to the development not only of professionals, but of individuals who are able to meaningfully support therapeutic dialogue, empathy, and human connection in the contemporary world—building bridges of understanding across different cultures and communities.
- Duration: 4 years
- Format: In-person
- Frequency: 8 weekends & 2 five-day intensive trainings (during the first three years)
- Training Hours: 1,783 hours (excluding personal study, written assignments, and clinical placement)
- Tuition Fees: €2,900 per year
Certification
Upon successful completion of the four-year training and fulfillment of all programme requirements, participants will be certified by the Cyprus Association for Psychotherapists. This certification provides graduates with the opportunity to be recognised by the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP), as well as by the European Network for Person-Centred and Experiential Psychotherapy and Counselling (PCE Europe).
In addition, following their registration, graduates are certified by The International Focusing Institute (TIFI) as Focusing-Oriented Psychotherapists.
